Are you passionate about the natural world and eager to contribute to scientific research? Perhaps you’re as fed up as our farmers with slugs and the damage they cause. We’re actively recruiting Slug Scouts to help us collect grey field slugs for an exciting project working with the John Innes Centre. Your participation as a citizen scientist will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of these common but often overlooked creatures and using this to develop new slug control methods.
Your mission is to collect grey field slugs & send them to our labs at the John Innes Centre. Once received, the slugs will be used in feeding trials to help researchers explore new ways to manage slug populations.
Why it matters:
Understanding the grey field slugs behaviour is key to developing sustainable farming practices. Your contributions will support research aimed at reducing the damage slugs cause to crops, benefiting farmers & environment.
How to get involved:
Sign up using our sign up form. Collectgrey field slugs from your garden, local park, or farm. Package the slugs and send them to our labs following the instructions.
