Citizen Scientist Resources
Slug Scout Resources
We believe it is important to provide our citizen scientists with all the necessary tools to conduct important research and scientific experiments.
We also believe it is important to build communities so that our citizen scientists have the space to seek advice and offer support to their fellow researchers.
Pocket Guide
We have developed a guidance leaflet for our Slug Scouts so that they can have a useful document with them when they go scouting. This guide offers information on how to collect and send in slugs, where the slugs are going to and what they will be used for as well as a simplified version of the above slug identification guide.
Slug ID Guide
We have created a handy guide that you can use to make sure you are sending in the correct slugs to the lab. This slug identification guide shows images, latin names and gives a description of the grey field slug, leopard slug, spanish slug and black slug. This resource should be helpful for our Slug Scouts.
Community
Over on the BOFIN Slug Scouts Facebook page, you will be the first to see pictures, updates and fun facts. We also offer space for the community to ask questions and get involved in discussions with other citizen scientists!
