The Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT)
What is ADOPT?
The Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies (ADOPT) fund is part of Defra’s Farming Innovation Programme which is delivered by Innovate UK.
The ADOPT Facilitator Support Grant of £2,500 is also available for farmers, growers or foresters to engage an external Project Facilitator to support with submissions into the Full ADOPT Grant competitions.
The Full ADOPT Grant supports on-farm trials that test new ideas or solutions to address significant on-farm challenges, with the potential to improve productivity, resilience, and sustainability.
ADOPT key facts:
Projects must last between 6 and 24 months, starting from 1st November 2025, and ending by 31st October 2027.
Project must have total costs between £50,000 and £100,000.
Applicants must be active farming or forestry businesses based in England.
Projects must collaborate with at least one other farming or growing business in the UK.

When & How Can I Apply?
Round 1 applications open on 28th April and will close at 11am on June 25, 2025.
Applications should be made via the Innovation Funding Service.
A Project Facilitator from the ADOPT Innovate UK Business Connect database must be part of the project team proposed.
